Maintain feedwater temp > <|place▁holder▁no▁479|> + corten steel/coating.

Introduction

Boiler economizers are heat exchange devices with finned tubes that heat a liquid, sometimes water, up to however sometimes doesn't exceed the boiling purpose of liquid. We can manufacture three types of boiler economizer, bare tube economizer, H finned tube economizer and spiral finned tube economizer. H-finned tube economizer is high efficient heat exchanger economizer which is consisted of H-finned tubes.

Compared with bare tube economizer, H-finned tube economizer can enlarge the heat exchange area and reduce the number of tubes. It also can increase the flue gas flow area in order to reduce the flue gas flow speed and abrasion.
H-finned tube can be made as double H finned tubes , with high rigidness to fit long tube row.
The spiral finned economizer is a newly designed heat transfer equipment, consists of spiral fin tubes to overcome the serious abrasion and short service time.

Function

  1. The economizer, a supplementary steam - generating component in boiler systems, processes exhaust gases from engine cylinders (released via exhaust valves). These gases first enter the boiler, transferring heat to water for initial steam production — the core energy - conversion step.
  2. After passing through the boiler, residual heat - carrying exhaust gases flow into the economizer. It captures this waste heat to preheat boiler feedwater. This dual - stage heat recovery boosts steam output, enhances system efficiency by lowering the boiler’s primary energy need, and cuts fuel use.
  3. Fundamentally, the economizer acts as a waste - heat recovery system. It repurposes heat (otherwise lost to the atmosphere) to preheat feedwater (common application). This strategic thermal management: reduces energy input for steam generation; and trims fuel costs via leveraging wasted heat.

Variety

Utility Boiler Economizer

1 HDB produces economizers for utility boilers, which includes boilers fueled by coal, wood, oil, or other solid fuels to produce electricty from the boiler's high pressure steam.
2 These economizers are usually located in the back pass of the boiler and oriented with the tubes running horizontally. The boiler feedwater runs through the economizer circuits in the opposite direction of the gas flow (called counterflow).
3 Bare tubes are typically utilized in order to minimize ash fouling, but some boiler OEM's design their economizers with finned tubes, either spiral or long finned.
4 HDB can produce economizer elements with either bare, spiral finned, or long finned tubes, and if you prefer, re-design your unit to one of the other tube-types. HDB can also fabricate replacement headers for all utility boiler economizers.

HRSG Economizer

1 Economizers for today's HRSG modules are configured with fintubes that hang vertically. HDB has fabricated economizer coils for virtually all of the HRSG OEM companies and understands the unique features of each.
2 In many cases, utilities desire to upgrade their economizers from plain carbon steel to an alloy material to help resist flow accelerated corrosion (FAC) inside the headers and tube bends.
3 HDB is a one-stop shop for economizer fabrication because we prep all the materials and perform all of the pressure part and attachment welding, from finning the fintubes, fabricating the headers, and assembling the coil bundle.

Package Boiler Economizer

1 HDB has unique manufacturing capabilities that the Optimus engineers take full advantage of when designing sulfuric acid plant economizers and superheaters.
2 Often this allows the Optimus units to be configured for higher heat transfer efficiencies which results in a reduced surface area requirement and, consequently, a lower-priced product.
3 HDB utilizes its on-site capabilities to fin and bend the tubes, machine and fabricate the headers, drill the tubesheets, cut and prep all casing materials, and perform all of the pressure part and casing welds.
4 This gives HDB more control of the manufacturing sequence and schedule which has helped us achieve a remarkable record of on-time delivery performance.

Internal heat exchangers

1. Subcooling Through Gas Superheating

Subcooling is achieved by superheating refrigerant gas exiting the evaporator before it enters the compressor. This pre - cycles thermal conditioning optimizes subsequent heat exchange.

2. Dual - Path Heat Transfer

These systems extract heat from the liquid refrigerant line while heating the compressor's suction gas. This balanced energy shift enhances overall system efficiency.

3. Phase Separation Assurance

A common design choice, it ensures gaseous refrigerant reaches the compressor (avoiding liquid damage) and liquid refrigerant enters the expansion valve (for precise metering).

4. Heat Exchanger Optimization

Maximizes efficiency by:

  • Reducing the surface area dedicated to temperature adjustment
  • Expanding the volume for phase - change heat transfer, which is critical for cooling capacity
