Product Description
Low / High Pressure Flue Gas Boiler Economizer Heat Exchanger Devices With Finned Tubes
Boiler Economizer

Introduction
Economisers perform a key function in providing high overall boiler thermal efficiency by recovering low-level energy from flue gas before it is exhausted to the atmosphere. They recover this energy by heating the boiler feedwater. Economisers are tubular heat transfer surfaces used to preheat boiler feed water before it enters the steam drum or furnace surfaces, reducing operating costs by recovering extra energy from flue gas.
Procedure
Economisers reduce the potential for thermal shock and strong water temperature fluctuations as feed water enters the drum or waterwalls. They also help meet stringent environmental regulations limiting nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide emissions. The gas-side heat transfer coefficient is much lower than the water-side coefficient, so outer tube surfaces may be finned to increase heat transfer area. Economiser design aims to achieve necessary heat transfer at minimum cost, with maximum allowable flue gas velocity being a key criterion.
